Hanging out by the pool? On a vacation at the beach house? Or just hanging out on your deck or patio? Doesn’t matter - we’re glad you’re here checking out our fine reciopes! Here’s a picture of the blenderking enjoying a tasty Coconut Margarita a couple of years back in the tropical paradise of St. John.

(click for larger picture)

I”m searching out more old photos to add to the site. Somewhere, there’s a collection of me making margaritas in partys past. Given a big birthday is coming up for me, it’s time for a little more history of my margarita recipes.

Also on deck is a blenderking recipe book. Phase one is in progress - good old copywriting. Once the editors do their thing, we’ll post links for you for purchase.

Got any good summertime party ideas? Decorations? Other recipes? Feel free to post them in the comments!

It’s that time of year and one of the most popular here at blenderking.com. We’re counting down the days, giving our blenders a good spring cleaning, and stocking up our supplies of tequila for this year’s celebration.

As you know, we’ve got 15 margarita recipes for you to choose from, so how do you choose what to make this year? Around here we’ll be drinking Mango Margaritas. Our local Trader Joe’s sells frozen chunks of Mango which are the perfect way to make these.

So we’ve got your refreshments set, what are you going to eat? How about a 7 layer dip recipe? And if you have a Baja Fresh or Rubio’s near by, stop on in and order a couple of dozen Fish Tacos for your party! I enjoyed Rubio’s way back at San Diego State in the 80’s - I always wished I made it to San Felipe, Mexico to the source and inspiration of Ralph Rubio’s creation! If you don’t have one of these fine restaurants nearby, here’s a great page from my good friends Jeff and Nancy with a fish taco recipe down below a bit.

So there you go: instant party:

	Mango Margaritas

	7 layer dip recipe

	fish taco recipe

The decorations are up to you! When your friends ask you about these tasty creations, make sure you mention us here at blenderking.com!

By the way, got any other tips or other recipes? Post them here in the comments for all your friends to see. Are you a flickr user? If so, take pictures of your Cinco de Mayo party and tag them with cincodemayo and blenderking.

It’s time for St. Patrick’s Day. Green beer will make its once a year appearance, but somehow Green Margaritas are left out of the picture. I’ve been to Ireland, and boy I can tell you, that countryside is beautiful and the nickname “Emerald Isle” is well deserved.

Of course, no one associates the Irish with margaritas, but lets see if we can change that. Offer up Green Margaritas for your St. Patrick’s Day parties this year and help start the tradition. There’s two liquors out there for adding the “green”: Midori and green Crème de Menthe.

Oh, look at that, we’ve already got a Midori Margarita for you to use!

So fill up your blender with the tasty green goodness and let us know how good it was!

You’re looking at the newest re-design of blenderking.com! Welcome! Not everything is quite set, so come on back over the coming weeks to check things out.

First of all, you might notice that we’ve switched to a complete blog format. I really like how easy Word Press makes it easy to run the site now. There’s lot of options available and a bunch of plug-ins available to enhance the site. I used to run the site by coding my own templates using Cold Fusion, but simply don’t have the time to code the site myself anymore (wish I did, but perhaps another time).

You’ll notice that all the recipes are backdated a bit. I decided to keep the original dates that I posted the recipes to the internet. My original recipe, which I’ve been making since about 1991, was originally posted to the internet in 1995. It wasn’t until October 2000 that I registered blenderking.com as the permanent home for the recipes.

The site is also RSS enabled too, so it’s easy to get updates as we post them. More on that later. Lots of features being added too.

Cheers!

Spike

You should know: This is an interesting recipe. It can be made either in the blender, or shaken individually. Either way, it’s oh so tasty!

Here’s a tip: Plan ahead and freeze your watermelon chunks in advance, and use a little less ice.

Here’s what you need to make it (per blenderful): 1 1/4 cups of seedless (or seeds removed) cubed Watermelon, 6 ounces Tequila, 4 ounces Melon Liquor or Midori, 4 ounces sour mix, Ice

And how to do it: For the blender, well shoot, you need instructions? Ok. throw in the liquids, blend for 10 seconds, then throw in the watermelon and ice and mix up to a minute depending on the strength of your blender.

For the non-blender recipe, try this…I think it’s better than the blender version. Throw in your watermelon chunks into a small glass or large shot glass and squeeze so about 2/3 of the juice is released. Put the juice and the fruit into a cocktail shaker along with 2 ounces tequila, 1 ounce melon liquor or Midori, 2 ounces sour mix and some ice. Shake a few times (don’t kill it) and strain into your margarita glass. When you’re done drinking the margarita, you’re left with some alcohol saturated watermelon!!!

It’s my understanding that some people (in Pennsylvania apparently) like salt on their watermelons….seems so natural to salt the rim of the glass too!
