Start with the blue layer down on the bottom: Make a batch of our deep blue margaritas:

For the red layer on top, you have a choice, either our low budget raspberry marg’s or our tasty strawberry recipe. We tend to favor raspberry with the middle coconut layer ourselves!

To hold the layers better, use a little more ice than usual so you’ve got a thicker margarita – thick enough so you need a spoon to assist you in getting the tasty elixir out of your blender.

I”m searching out more old photos to add to the site. Somewhere, there’s a collection of me making margaritas in partys past. Given a big birthday is coming up for me, it’s time for a little more history of my margarita recipes.

Also on deck is a blenderking recipe book. Phase one is in progress – good old copywriting. Once the editors do their thing, we’ll post links for you for purchase.

As you know, we’ve got 15 margarita recipes for you to choose from, so how do you choose what to make this year? Around here we’ll be drinking Mango Margaritas. Our local Trader Joe’s sells frozen chunks of Mango which are the perfect way to make these.

So we’ve got your refreshments set, what are you going to eat? How about a 7 layer dip recipe? And if you have a Baja Fresh or Rubio’s near by, stop on in and order a couple of dozen Fish Tacos for your party! I enjoyed Rubio’s way back at San Diego State in the 80’s – I always wished I made it to San Felipe, Mexico to the source and inspiration of Ralph Rubio’s creation! If you don’t have one of these fine restaurants nearby, here’s a great page from my good friends Jeff and Nancy with a fish taco recipe down below a bit.

Of course, no one associates the Irish with margaritas, but lets see if we can change that. Offer up Green Margaritas for your St. Patrick’s Day parties this year and help start the tradition. There’s two liquors out there for adding the “green”: Midori and green Crème de Menthe.

Oh, look at that, we’ve already got a Midori Margarita for you to use!

First of all, you might notice that we’ve switched to a complete blog format. I really like how easy Word Press makes it easy to run the site now. There’s lot of options available and a bunch of plug-ins available to enhance the site. I used to run the site by coding my own templates using Cold Fusion, but simply don’t have the time to code the site myself anymore (wish I did, but perhaps another time).

You’ll notice that all the recipes are backdated a bit. I decided to keep the original dates that I posted the recipes to the internet. My original recipe, which I’ve been making since about 1991, was originally posted to the internet in 1995. It wasn’t until October 2000 that I registered blenderking.com as the permanent home for the recipes.

The site is also RSS enabled too, so it’s easy to get updates as we post them. More on that later. Lots of features being added too.
